ARTE IN FABBRICAè una splendida avventura intrapresa dai fratelli Fabio e Paolo Gori, da sempre nel mondo dell’arte, per coniugare finalmente due aspetti importanti della vita di entrambi: l’arte e il lavoro.
Insieme da oltre quarant’anni nell’attività di famiglia – che commercializza tessuti e mobilio da e per ogni parte del mondo – si confrontano quotidianamente sulla passione comune per l’arte in genere, ma soprattutto per l’arte contemporanea per la quale è sorta spontanea l’esigenza di dedicare energie, tempo e spazio.
L’idea di svilupparla all’interno della Gori Tessuti e Casa nasce dalle esperienze di Paolo e di Fabio e dalla loro amicizia con molti protagonisti del mondo artistico. Risponde dunque, al desiderio di poter seguire le varie fasi dell’ideazione e della realizzazione delle mostre, accompagnare l’attività degli artisti giorno dopo giorno, con progetti nati espressamente per gli spazi dell’azienda, e alla volontà di coinvolgere i collaboratori, i clienti e tutti coloro che, visitando questi ambienti, esprimono curiosità nei confronti di queste nuove esperienze.
La complessità della fabbrica, dove si trovano oltre 10.000.000 di metri di tessuto, unito alla mobilia rara e ai manufatti di alto artigianato, crea un mondo di colori e di architetture fantastiche ed è stata, di volta in volta, motivo di sorpresa e fonte di ispirazione per le tante persone che, casualmente o abitudinariamente, frequentano l’azienda.
Nell’attuare questo progetto il luogo di lavoro ha suggerito alcune particolari modalità: gli orari di apertura che corrispondano a quelli dell’azienda; la durata delle mostre, visitabili per diversi mesi così da poter dare l’occasione di accesso a un grande numero di visitatori; la possibilità di realizzare iniziative legate alla creatività, intesa nel suo aspetto multidisciplinare, con proiezioni, concerti, presentazioni e performance.
Dopo aver iniziato con la mostra di Vittorio Corsini, la scelta di Flavio Favelli è una continuazione del percorso intrapreso perché nel lavoro di entrambi è essenziale l’attenzione prestata alle dinamiche sociali e psicologiche della contemporaneità.
Arte in Fabbrica (Art in the Factory) is a splendid adventure carried out by brothers Fabio and Paolo Gori, who have always been active in the art world, with the aim of finally unifying two important aspects of their lives: art and work.
Having worked together for over forty years in the family business of dealing fabrics and furnishings from all over the world, the brothers are used to daily discussions about their shared passion for art in general but, especially, for contemporary art. Thus it came naturally to them to want to devote time and space to this great love.
The idea of doing this project inside the Gori Tessuti e Casa originates from their wish to personally follow, day after day, the various phases of conception and realization of art projects born expressly for the company spaces. No less important was the desire to involve employees, clients and all the people who, upon visiting these spaces, express their curiosity towards these new experiences. The Gori Tessuti e Casa is a complex workplace, where the combined presence of more than 10.000.000 meters of fabrics, rare furnishings and finely crafted artisanal objects create a world of colors and amazing architectures; indeed, from time to time, the company has been a source of wonder and inspiration to the many people who go there, whether by chance or habit.
Paolo and Fabio’s experience and strong ties of friendship to many significant players in the art world brought them to implement this particular form of exhibition: with usually very long exhibition periods, to allow the greatest number of visitors to access the work; with opening times corresponding to the company’s business hours, thereby emphasizing the bond of these two aspects; with the space’s hosting of extra events – screenings, concerts, presentations, and performances -- tied to creativity, taken as multidisciplinary activity.
After the initial exhibition by Vittorio Corsini, the Gori brothers’ project finds continuation in the choice of Flavio Favelli because, in their work, both artists demonstrate a fine-tuned attention to the social and psychological dynamics of our contemporary times.
